Celeb Diary------ A day in the life of FUNNY DEOL

11 AM:     woke up to a spate of missed call from bro LOBBY. Man, why does he always give missed   calls?  Then it dawned on me that when your last and only hit film dates back by more than a decade (read “Seepaahi”), you can only expect to give missed call.


11:30 AM: called LOBBY 2 inquire abt the matter. Had to cut the call halfway as my cellphone balance nears an end too. After all, it has been quite a time since FADAR happened. As about the call, LOBBY informed me that I had been conferred with the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT award for the 2nd time in less than 2 weeks!


12:00 PM:    Sending SMSes 2 friends and relatives through the free sms sites “way2sms.com” and “ibibo”


1:00 PM:    Waiting for the kids to return from school so that they could unlock the door from outside. Have to resort to such things. Security reasons u know! Security from the distributors n produ- cers of my films!


2:00 PM:     still waiting for them to come. Must have prolonged their stay at their school in the lure of the mid-day meal!

2:30 PM :     Kids finally come home visibly frightened. Ask me to turn on the TV. TV news channels flashing ‘‘ FUNNY DEOL STATUS READS ‘BUSY’ “; “Is he contemplating a comeback?”. Another one shows the news of the sensex crashing within minutes of that news going on-air.


3:00 PM:       Busy deleting the congratulatory messages received on my being ‘busy’.


3:15 PM :      Son draws my attention to the footage of the top honcos of Indian politics congratulating me in  the parliament on getting ‘busy’ finally. Time to be conferred with the ‘Muhalla Ratn’ award!


4:00 PM     Still deleting the messages! 1000 more to go! But anyways, agle 4-5 din tak kuch kaam karne Ko to mila!


6:00 PM:    The local CD shop owner Hariya came over to give me the royalty from the profit he earns by renting out the CDs of my previous and yet-to-be released films. Glad to know that the CD of movie KAMINI was rented out for the 10th time ever since it released!


8:00 PM:   took kids out for a grand treat of ‘ragda patties’ and ‘paaw bhaaji’ with the royalty earned 4rm Hariya.


10:00 PM:  finally decides to call it a day! (side note: Kids want to know the ‘it’ in my “call it a day’!)
