“Dude, Ra.One sucks. It had nothing like a Hollywood movie.”---- commented seemingly a just foreign returned dude (of course in a forced foreign accent) to his seemingly foreign-ready dude (judging by his reply--- “Yo, man!”) at the end of the 1st screening of Ra.One at DT STAR MALL GURGAON.
Later in the day, as I logged in to my FB account to share the excitement and thrill of having watched a movie first-day first-show for the first time and that too a visual spectacle like Ra.One, I was appalled to see so much negative reviews and reactions for Ra.One spread all over the ‘www’ world.
Ra.One is certainly not an average/bad film as it is made out to be. In Ra.One parlance, allow me to quote an unknown source, “A lie spoken 100 times becomes a truth.”. This holds true in the context of Ra.One.
Agreed that the movie lacks in certain areas but to rip it apart ruthlessly and unjustifiably just because it did not match the standards of a typical Hollywood fantasy/action/superhero movie is utter nonsense.
Why so much fixation for Hollywood movies? Why we need to ape them? They have their signature style and we’ve ours. Ra.One has attempted to present us something unseen and unfeasible on Hindi cinema till date. Of course, there have been a few glitches here and there but it’s perfectly fine. “ In Ra.One parlance, allow me to quote this famous saying "girte hain seh-sawaare maidaane-jang mein, wo kya khaak girangay jo ghutnoan ke bal chalaa karte hain.".
It’s easy to stick to formula films South-remakes and rake in 100 of crores but to dare to do something of Ra.One’s magnitude isn’t the cup of tea of any GAJNI, DABBANG or a TEES MAAR KHAN.
If at all Ra.One disappoints, it’s not because it lacks in something. It’s only because the expectations were sky-high……no….. heaven-high! Don’t go into the theatre expecting an AVATAR or a TRANSFORMERS. The G.One of Ra.One isn’t just any other superhero, desi or non-desi. G.One is a superhero with a H.A.R.T. And as not just any other human being, don’t count the H.A.R.T.Beats(read special effects and action sequences in the movie Ra.One) of this movie.
Feel it. Experience it.
Cutting the long story short, Ra.One is worth every penny spent on it—be it of its makers or the audiences. You go into the theatre with the expectation of getting entertained. Ra.One does that with panache.
You'll come out of the theatre feeling overwhlemed but still wanting for more. And this last sentence can be interpreted in more than one way.
Ra.One may be, as the critics are saying, a flawed dream of Shah Rukh Khan, but it is certainly not a failed one.

THE GAME IS STILL ON………….
DING DING DING…………DING DING DING………..

I have not watched the movie yet.. But if by some chance i happen to be in the theatre to watch Ra.One, the reason would be this, one of a kind review, infact the only kind that says there is something to this movie!
After plenty of dissuasion from facebook users and the world wide web, the author's fresh perspective is quite welcome.
there is no point wasting so much money in making a movie in which there is no storyline & no creativity . Why cannot we have our own ideas instead of borrowing them from Hollywood? We have potential BUT we Indians love to live a life in complete denial and ignorance. We are stepping backwards instead of moving on and exploring new horizons, whole essence of India cinema is lost. We are all slave of USA and Europe, copying everything they do.
